CEO, Markel Insurance
Simon Wilson became CEO of Markel Insurance in 2025 and is responsible for Markel’s insurance operations globally.
Simon began his career with Deloitte Consulting before moving to Lloyd’s where he ultimately led the Lloyd’s Asia platform, based in Singapore. He joined Markel in 2010 to build out the international network and subsequently ran the National Markets business unit. Simon has also led Markel’s Global Strategy team and most recently held the role of President of Markel International from 2021 before becoming CEO.
Simon holds degrees in both Law and Management and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He also serves on the board of the International Underwriting Association as Deputy Chairman.
