Rohan Davies

Rohan Davies joined Markel in January 2008 as an Underwriter in our Energy team. Rohan began his career working on short seismic data contracts in industry. In late 2003 he joined Heath Lambert as an energy broker before switching to underwriting in 2004. Rohan worked at Liberty International Underwriters in London, Houston and Singapore as a Junior Underwriter and Aggregation Analyst until joining Markel in January 2008 in the Singapore office to start the energy account in Asia. Rohan returned to London in 2013 and was promoted to Senior Underwriter in 2014. Rohan took over as Managing Director of Energy in 2018, before becoming Managing Director of Marine and Energy in 2022. Rohan is responsible for the Marine and Energy division within Markel International.

Rohan went to Wells Cathedral School in Somerset and then went on to graduate from Imperial College London with an MSci in Geological Sciences.

Rohan loves cars as do his two kids and they enjoy a spirited drive around the roads of Essex. He really enjoys historic motor sport and is a regular at Goodwood for the Revival and Members’ Meeting. Rohan is also a season ticket holder for West Ham FC.
