Robert Wells

Robert Wells joined Markel in February 2009 as a Senior Underwriter in our Equine and Livestock team. He was promoted to Head of Livestock in 2023.

Robert has almost 30 years' experience in the insurance industry, having begun his career at QBE in 1996. He moved to XL In 2002 to set up their livestock department, before joining Markel.

He is responsible for Markel’s Global livestock account, including the Global Livestock Consortium, the home of the world's largest capacity for Livestock risks.

Robert lives with his wife and two sons.
