Pippa Stone

Pippa Stone joined Markel in September 2016 as an Underwriter in the legacy Personal Accident, Contingency and Entertainment (PACE) team. Pippa has worked in the insurance market for more than twenty years. After completing her A-levels, she began her career as a Credit Controller at Willis. Three years later, she moved to Chubb where she trained as an Underwriter. Subsequently, she helped to set up media and entertainment products at Travelers and then at Markel. In 2019, her achievements were recognised at the Women in Insurance Awards where she won in the London Market Professional of the Year and the Underwriting Professional of the Year categories. As Head of Media and Entertainment, Pippa is responsible both for managing the niche media and entertainment portfolio, and the team of five people who are experts in their field and deliver an exemplary service to brokers and clients.

Pippa is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Pippa lives in South-east London with her husband, daughter, and stepson. Outside of work she enjoys reading, listening to music, and watching films and TV box sets – The Wire remains her favourite. To keep active, she goes to the gym and takes long walks.
