Graeme Ivory joined Markel in December 2023 as Director of International Casualty in the Specialty division. He began his insurance career at ACE Europe in 2002. Graeme has over 20 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s market, including spells at Zurich, Catlin and Brit. Graeme has held positions underwriting UK, multinational and international casualty, including a specialist focus on energy liability for a period. Prior to joining Markel he led the Liability team at Brit, with oversight of the UK, International and US Casualty portfolios. He is responsible for building a new International Casualty product offering at Markel, including General Liability, Life Science and Environmental Liability classes.
Graeme started his working career after completing his A-Levels in 1999, with a short spell working for a pension actuarial and administration company.
Graeme lives in Sussex with his wife and daughter, in close vicinity to his local golf club where he enjoys socialising and playing golf. He enjoys most sports and sailing in the Solent.
