2025 event design trends: immersive, unconventional, retro, and vibrant designs to create memorable events.

5-minute read

“Go bold or go home” sums up the event scene for 2025. Event planners are pushing the envelope into new territories to liven up events and create memorable experiences. From immersive experiences to unconventional venues to throwback themes to vibrant designs, events are making an exciting statement—boring is out and thrilling is in. Check out the latest and greatest event design trends for 2025.

Immersive experiences

In today’s event environment, attendees expect to be inspired, fascinated, and enlightened through exploration. That’s why creating an engaging event with advances in technology such as virtual reality, video mapping, and lighting and sound is popular. These activities enhance the attendee experience, eliciting an emotional response and making it more memorable. Immersive experiences encourage interaction and leave a lasting impact.

Unconventional venues

There are no rules that events must be held in stuffy conference rooms or convention centers, especially in 2025. Event planners are thinking outside of the box and designing events in warehouse spaces, museums, art galleries, vineyards, aquariums, airport hangars, and even castles. Of course, there is more planning and logistics required and won’t work for every event, but, when possible, non-traditional spaces are the way to go.

Throwback themes

Nothing pulls at event goers’ heartstrings like the wistful affection for the past. Pull your theme throughout the whole event, including trivia, gaming, food, swag, décor, and music. Some fun ideas to consider: the 80s (arcade games, neon, Rubik’s cube), 50s (milkshakes, rock ‘n’ roll), vintage Hollywood, and retro 60s and 70s.

Vibrant designs

Muted tones and designs are so 2023. Now rich, saturated colors like pops of red and orange and daring patterns are bringing depth and sophistication into the mix. You can’t go wrong with stripes, abstract prints, and florals. Curves are in too—curved table designs, serpentine tables, curved aisles, all add to the flow of the space.

In today’s event environment, attendees expect to be inspired, fascinated and enlightened through exploration. Event planning in 2025 is all about pushing boundaries and embracing creativity.
