Richmond, Virginia, May 3, 2024 — Markel is now offering workers compensation insurance policies in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, D.C., completing a strategic expansion initiative and marking a significant achievement in the company’s history.
Markel’s newly expanded workers compensation offering will complement the small commercial offering already established in these states.
This expansion allows Markel to provide workers compensation insurance to small businesses nationally, excluding four monopolistic states. Workers compensation is offered solely through the state fund in Ohio, North Dakota, Wyoming, and Washington.
A nationwide offering aligns to the growing trend of remote workers residing throughout the United States and is important for those servicing clients on a national scale.
