Markel appoints Alicia Leong as Head of Marine Liabilities

Markel, Singapore, February 20, 2025 — Markel, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc. (NYSE: MKL), today announced the appointment of Alicia Leong as Head of Marine Liabilities in Singapore.

Leong will oversee Singapore-based Marine & Energy (M&E) liabilities underwriters and provide strategic direction for overseas teams, strengthen business pipelines, and enhance broker and distribution engagements. She will lead the M&E liabilities team in APAC to further expand Markel’s territorial footprint as well as entrenchment in the marketplaces Markel operates in. Leong joins from Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets, Syndicate, where she spent close to 10 years as a marine liability underwriter.

She will report to Wanshi Lin, Head of Singapore.
